When connecting to the ARM VPN on Windows 10, it is important to follow the procedures outlined below. Failure to do so may prevent your computer from connecting to the VPN or may prevent you from accessing network resources (folders and printers) once you are connected.
First, do not connect to the VPN by clicking on the network icon in the lower-right corner of your screen and clicking ARM VPN on the popup menu.
Instead, do the following:
- First, be sure that you have an active wired or wireless internet connection on your laptop or desktop. (e.g. make sure that you can get to a webpage).
- Click on the Windows icon in the lower left-corner of your screen.
- Type in “VPN” and click on “VPN Settings” in the search results.
- In the VPN settings window, click on ARM VPN, then click Connect
- If you are prompted with a sign-in box, type in the domain (armgroup), a backslash (\) and your username.
- Use the same password that you use to log into your computer.
- Once you do so, you should be connected to the VPN and should be able to access your network drives.
